Standing for Law and Order Law and order is the foundation of every safe community. Families deserve to feel secure in their homes, businesses deserve protection, and victims deserve to know that justice will be pursued. As your Sheriff, I will support proactive policing that targets violent criminals, repeat offenders, and those who threaten the safety of Delaware County. Being tough on crime also means standing firmly behind our deputies. They need the training, equipment, leadership, and support necessary to perform their jobs safely and professionally. A Sheriff's Office that is well-trained and well-led is better prepared to protect the public while respecting the constitutional rights of every citizen. I believe in enforcing the law fairly, consistently, and without political influence. My oath has always been to the Constitution and the citizens of Delaware County, and that commitment will never change. Building Strong Community Partnerships A Sheriff's Office cannot be successful by working alone. Public safety is strongest when law enforcement and the community work together toward a common goal. Throughout my career, I have built relationships with schools, neighborhood organizations, local businesses, first responders, elected officials, and community leaders. Those partnerships have helped us prevent crime, educate our youth, improve emergency preparedness, and solve problems before they become larger issues. As Sheriff, I will continue expanding community outreach by being visible, accessible, and accountable. I believe the Sheriff's Office should be present at community events, in our schools, and throughout our neighborhoods. Trust is earned through communication, transparency, and consistent service. Together, we can build safer neighborhoods while strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and the people we serve. Smart Rehabilitation That Reduces Crime Holding criminals accountable and reducing repeat offenses are not opposing ideas. They work together. The vast majority of individuals housed in our jail will eventually return to our communities. The question is whether they return as better neighbors or repeat offenders. I support programs that hold inmates accountable while giving those who genuinely want to change the opportunity to do so. Programs such as education, job readiness, substance abuse recovery, peer support, and vocational training have already shown positive results in reducing recidivism while improving public safety. When fewer people commit crimes again, our neighborhoods become safer and taxpayer dollars are spent more efficiently. Rehabilitation should never replace accountability. Instead, it should be used as another tool to protect our community by reducing future victims and breaking the cycle of crime. Fiscal Responsibility and Innovation The Sheriff's Office has a responsibility to be a good steward of taxpayer dollars. Every dollar entrusted to our agency should be spent wisely, efficiently, and with accountability. Over the past several years, our office has demonstrated that responsible financial management can improve public safety while reducing the burden on taxpayers. Through innovative programs, partnerships, and the successful housing of federal inmates, we've generated millions of dollars in revenue that help offset operational costs. As Sheriff, I will continue seeking innovative solutions that improve services without unnecessary spending. I will invest in technology that helps deputies work more efficiently, pursue grants whenever possible, and carefully evaluate every expenditure to ensure taxpayers receive the greatest value. Good leadership means planning for the future, embracing responsible innovation, and making decisions that strengthen our Sheriff's Office for generations to come. A Commitment to Delaware County For more than 30 years, I have dedicated my life to serving Delaware County. I've worked nearly every aspect of law enforcement, from patrol and criminal investigations to SWAT, the Bomb Squad, Search and Recovery, and executive leadership as Chief Deputy. My campaign isn't built on promises. It's built on experience, proven leadership, and a clear vision for the future. As your next Sheriff, I will continue Standing for Law and Order, strengthening community partnerships, reducing crime through accountability and smart rehabilitation, and protecting every taxpayer dollar through responsible leadership and innovation.
